Chloropidae
Thaumatomyia notata is a small (2-3mm) fly which, due to its bright yellow and black bands, is very visible both when it is resting on leaves or hovering in mid flight. It is a carnivorous fly and fairly common in localised areas. The larvae are reported to feed on aphids.
