Aphididae
The giant black bark aphid (Pterochloroides persicae) is a large aphid that generally attacks fruit trees, Prunus sp. in Mediterranean region (Maurice Hullé personal communication). It was found on a wall near Olive trees, but may have flown over from nearby fields. This specimen has been identified, from photos, by Maurice Hullé of Encyclop'Aphid, an excellent site on aphid biology.
