Orthopyxis asymmetrica is a very small stolonal species of hydroid. It was found growing on the leaf of Posidonia oceanica. It is considered a Mediterranean endemic. Some sources consider this taxon as a junior synonym of Orthopyxis integra.

This specimen was identified and described in more
detail (p. 192/3 & Fig. 6m-n) in the following paper published (2013) by Soto Àngel and Peña Cantero.
