Eupeodes latifasciatus is a small species of hoverfly. It is a brightly coloured member of the Diptera (True flies) but may be mistaken for a wasp. The adult flies feed on nectar and can be seen hovering over flowers in autumn. The larvae feed on small insects (aphids). The yellow bands are fused at the centre, except for the first band which is not.
