Cydnidae
Cydnus aterrimus is a small burrowing bug, with a pale posterior area (hemelytral membrane). The cydnidae are generally dark coloured and undergo several changes as they transform from larvae to adult. One way of identifying a nymph from an adult is to count the number of segments on the antennae: 4 for nymphs, 5 for adults.
