Cochlicella acuta (O. F. Müller, 1774)
Cochlicellidae
Cochlicella acuta is a common species of snail present in the Maltese Islands. It has a small sized, conically shaped dextral shell with variable colour patterns, though sometimes whitish shells are found. This species, as with some other local species, aestivates by climbing up on dried plant stems, trees and other wooden poles and remaining there throughout the summer months.
